For more information, go to , and interact with us on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst-Capital this role, the successful candidate as a Senior Financial Analyst will support various Capital Accounting General Ledger activities for NYULangone Health, including annual audit reporting, annual budgeting process, monthly reporting, andanalysis and forecasting. The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to add value by creating executivequality management presentations, dashboards & metrics, identifying and driving business analysis,providing decision support analysis to be used by management to facilitate informed decisions, and togenerate valuable insights and transparency around all areas of the business. The Senior FinancialAnalyst will also build and enhance processes and controls across finance and related accountingsupporting systems. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accuracyof financial results and consistency with corporate and business unit accounting policies and procedures,and identifying and communicating risks and opportunities. This position will report into the Manager ofFinancial Services and the Director of Financial Services.Job Responsibilities:Support the daily operations of Capital and Corporate FinancialOperation activities.Process month-end Financial close account reconciliations and analyses.Prepare standard and adjusting journal entries, and maintain financialstatement accounts as part of monthly close.Perform analytical review of various sections of the financial statements and provide explanations for trends and significant variances.Support various general ledger activities for NYU Langone Health, including assisting with the annual statements and footnotes for the audit, annual budgeting process, monthly reporting, and analysis and forecastingPrepare and Maintain Affiliation Billing for NYU Langone HealthPrepare and Maintain monthly Depreciation Executive Summary and quarterly forecast.Cost Accounting: Support Financial Statement AllocationsASC 842 Lease AccountingLead in the review of the data within lease accounting system, accounting transactions and preparation of monthly lease roll forward report.Effectively execute and analyze PeopleSoft queries from the lease accounting system to analyze monthly operating lease components and compile a summary of new property or equipment leases.Maintain and track monthly accounting for straight-line rent, and Right of Use Assets balance sheet accounts.Assist with Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Property, Plant and Equipment ActualReconciliations, Forecasting and Analysis.Assists with the development of written processes and procedures.Alteryx training, subject matter expert of entire enterprise.Ad hoc special projects as needed.Emergent Needs-Perform other duties as required and assigned based on emergent department needsTechnical Skills:Alteryx, taking a leadership role preferredIntermediate Microsoft Excel SkillsData entry, Data cleaning using filters, color coding, freeze pane, importdataBasic formulas like if statements, nested if statements, String functions,arithmetic, and basic stats functionsV/H lookup and index matching functions.Pivot table skills.Managing multiple spreadsheets.Additional Skills:Self-organizationIndividuals demonstrate their ability to initiate and organize their own work. Respects and maintains confidentiality of all financial information within NYULHMinimum Qualifications:Have a Bachelor''s degree in accounting and knowledge of general accepting accounting principles;A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of accounting experience. Must have a sound understanding of accounting and/or finance and a general understanding of the healthcare and/or higher-ed industry in order to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the position.Working knowledge of general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month end.Ability to interpret and apply finance and accounting policies, practices, and systems to GAAP Accounting Standards.Proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.Strong work ethic, with ability to work extended hours as required.Preferred Qualifications:CPA license or working towards a CPA and public accounting background is preferred.Not-for-profit, healthcare or higher-ed industry experience is preferred.Proficient computer skills to support the General Accounting Department of NYULangone Health Systems.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU Langone Health provides its staff with far more than just a place to work.
