The role contributes and supports central and field projects to achieve medical objectives within the respective US Medical Affairs (USMA) therapeutic area. This role works closely with the medical directors, MSL Regional Director(s) for the therapeutic area and cross-functionally within GMA and clinical development teams to support developing, and implementing USMA neurology strategies and tactics, in alignment with global medical and US business strategy, reporting to the US Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Head in Neurology. Principal Responsibilties Directly support neurology disease area Medical Director (gMG), in providing expert inputs into strategy, tactics, and execution of other key deliverables such as internal, external, and patient-related meetings. Supporting cross-functional medical neurology TA teams with inputs on medical strategy, initiatives, data generation and insight generation activities in the identified disease area. Provide expert inputs into evaluation of the treatment landscape of the neurology therapeutic area from the medical perspective in the region. Work with the US Medical Affairs Neurology TA lead, medical directors, and regional field directors to provide critical inputs into communication priorities, field materials and field strategy Provide tailored expert training to medical and cross-functional teams as needed. Maintain/continue to develop medical and scientific knowledge of designated therapeutic area, including current treatment strategies, current and upcoming competitors, and new therapeutic developments and sharing/training the team on those developments by working closely with medical directors. Continually self-educate on US and global market issues / trends and product knowledge as it pertains to US Medical Affairs priorities. Proactively analyze, with medical directors, local and regional medical needs by working in conjunction with the medical, clinical, and commercial organizations to identify opportunities that can help achieving the aligned strategic goals. Provide consistent and timely feedback to medical and cross-functional teams regarding the progress on addressing unmet medical needs in the region. Contribute to/lead special projects with overall organizational impact at request of the TA lead. Continuously strive for improvement, e.g. by identifying new projects that may enhance US Medical Affairs success and providing such proposals to Sr. management. Serve as mentor and trainer for medical directors and new hires as appropriate. Communicate regional medical priorities to the TA lead and other cross-functional leadership as appropriate Qualifications Greater than or equal to 10 years of clinical practice experience in the following areas: Management of patients with neuromuscular diseases i.e. gMG.
