Manager, Electrolyzer Projects Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Electrolyzers - Plug System SolutionsPosition SummaryThe Manager, Electrolyzer Projects will lead a team of multi-discipline Project Managers to take ownership of delivering hydrogen generation systems to end customers. The Project Management Team shall receive secured clients from the Sales & Applications Engineering Teams, and take over as primary interface through detailed design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning, and acceptance. The Manager, Electrolyzer Projects shall establish and enforce processes to ensure customer contracts are fulfilled and that project metrics such as schedules & budgets are transparent within the organization. This role shall also support the management of external manufacturing partners and internal procurement personnel as needed to deliver client commitments. The role requires close interaction with the sales, engineering, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs/deliverables meet cross functional and end customer requirements. The ideal candidate should exhibit exceptional communication and project management skills along with a strong background in engineering. The successful candidate must be customer focused, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain current technical knowledge of all Plug electrolyzer products, offerings, and processesLead a team of individuals to be primary point of contact for customers and other external interfaces (sub-contractors) as neededEnsure that staff are sufficiently cross trained in different products, project types, and reporting processesEnsure the execution of each sales order from initiating supply chain / manufacturing planning through onsite commissioningReview sales contracts for acceptance of critical details for bids including total cost and delivery schedule.Align sales and engineering departments as required to issue change orders when needed throughout project execution Maintain high level of cost and technical risk certainty considering priorities of internal departments, customer budgets, and partner capabilities.Be involved with product management & engineering in new developments, providing input that enhances the customer experience and ease of deploymentEmbrace a culture of improvement through standardizing documentation with refinement and consistency of processWork professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximizing system performance and customer satisfactionRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor''s degree in engineering or a related field of studyMinimum of eight (8) years engineering experience with minimum three (3) years of project management experienceExperience in a customer facing environment requiredSupervisory experience strongly preferredExperience in deployment of industrial equipment requiredExperience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued:Hydrogen and/or fuel cellsCryogenic IndustryHigh Pressure Systems (350 Bar and up)Gas processing and/or dispensing equipmentOil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.PharmaceuticalsFamiliarity with regulatory codes and standards preferredAbility to travel occasionally, up to 20% of the timeComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and OutlookExcellent organizational and verbal/written communication skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholdersUncompromising dedication to safety & qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
