Job Summary/ScopeCOVID-19 continues to significantly impact our communities, families and employees. With employee health and safety as a top priority, the City of Wilson is taking action to address the increased risk and uncertainty COVID variants pose in the workplace. Effective Monday, November 8, 2021, all newly hired employees will be required to be fully vaccinated before their start date. This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of systems administration including Interface with networks, applications, databases, and telecommunications. This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures. Success in this position ensures the efficient operation of information technology. The work consists of varied technical duties. The unique nature of each problem contributes to the complexity of the position. Job Responsibilities Major Duties Install/support software systems across the organization. Support database maintenance. Design and maintain database reports using MS SQL Server Reporting Services. Develop/maintain system integration utilities using .NET and vendor provided APIs. Support Esri based GIS applications. Support Windows servers hosted in a VM environment. Support web site maintenance. Conducts one-on-one end user training on a variety of software applications (Office [MB1] 2016, Spoolview, DMS.net, etc.). Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Provides city wide technical support on a variety of CentralSquare Enterprise products as well as third party integrated business systems applications; Conducts research and analysis to assist end users with application specific challenges, in a team-centered climate. Coordinates and participates in training sessions between business system vendors and functional area end users. Monitors the functionality and maintenance of all business systems and applications. Create application reports using IBM QMQRY and Control Language (CL)statements Monitors and responds to in-house help desk and remote vendor site trouble tickets. Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience Requirements Knowledge and competency commonly associated with the successful completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study equivalent to Computer Science, Information Systems Management or other occupationally related field. Demonstrated experience that is sufficient and conducive to teamwork, team-building and promoting quality customer service in support (at least five years). Possession of or the ability to immediately obtain a valid North Carolina driver''s license; including adequate transportation. Certifications (should be completed within 1 year of hire)MCSA: SQL 2016 Database DevelopmentMCSE: Data Management and Analytics Knowledge Requirements Knowledge and experience with IBM iSeries O/S and PC operational environments, including (QMQRY & CL). Skill in Enterprise Resource Planning. Skill in Project Management Concepts, focusing on local government. Knowledge of local, city, state and federal ordinances, laws and regulations Skill in working in customer-centered service and support environment Skill in conceptual planning, organizing and decision-making Ability to provide oral and written communication with specific emphasis on providing feedback and follow-up. Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe duties of this position are typically performed in an office, computer room, training room, conference room or at the desk-side of end users, citywide.Duties are typically performed while sitting but; could include stooping, standing and walking for extended periods of time.Some driving may also be required in support of functional area end users citywide.The duty hours of this position are negotiable within the core hours of operation.
