/Work Schedule: PRN Seasonal/ Program runs from August 1, 2022 to April 8, 2023Medical City Weatherford is a 103-bed, all private room hospital that includes a network of medical clinics serving Parker County. The hospital has received numerousawards and recognition, including Press Ganey Summit Award, The Joint Commissions Top Performer in Key Quality Measures and The Joint Commissions Gold Seal of Approval * Maintain a safe and therapeutic PACU environment * Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis onthe needs of individual PACU patients * the needs of individual PACU patients * Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process * Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care * Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver * Participate in surgical services specific initiatives and process improvement * Promote a supportive PACU environment * Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs * Provides immediate post-surgical care of patients ranging from infant to geriatrics (excluding critically ill infants and children) who have had general anesthesia, epidural/spinal anesthesia and IV sedation * Monitors all patients for airway and pain management * Provides post anesthesia care to patients receiving high-risk intravenous therapies and blood componentsPROGRAM REQUIREMENTS1yr of experience as OR RN is required. * Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. * All Seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. * Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period. * During the course of the 36 week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). * Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital. * Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy. * Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. * Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2022-2023 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year. * Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.* *Must be a graduate of a professional school of nursingMust have a minimum of one year clinical experience as a circulating RNCurrent RN license in State of Texas or compact licenseMust have a minimum of an ADNCurrent American Heart Association BLS provider at the time of hireACLS within 30 days of hire, PALS within 90 days of hireJob: *Nursing - Professional Title: Registered Nurse OR - PRN Seasonal Location: Texas-Weatherford-Medical City Weatherford Requisition ID: 26935-171992
