Utilizing appropriate decision-making skills and exhibit competency in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive dependently and safely manage routine patient assignment. Establish a plan of care, set goals, determine priorities, and provides care within established standards of practice. Variable ShiftsPerioperative Department concentrates on four (4) areas of expertise: SpineWeight lossOrthopedicsMinimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)Shared governance model to encourage staff engagement. Six (6) OR Suites, Conducts approximately 300 cases per month. AdditionalDuties and Responsibilities:Monitor patients in the immediate post anesthesia unit, assessing the patients status as they emerge from anesthesia and safely regain consciousness.Staffing requirements and the role of the registered nurse in providing direct patient care in the PACU are set forth in the practice recommendations promulgated by the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).In the Recovery Room, the focus is on the patients recovery from anesthesia and the return to baseline vital signs. Consideration is given to the procedure, anesthesia care, patient comorbidities, and the patients physical status to recognize, minimize and manage any issues or complications.Participate in performance improvement activitiesCedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is an EEO employer.
