Jump-start your career with HCA Houston Healthcare StarTech Patient Care Technician Training Program.The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCTs skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.The StarTech Patient Care Technician (PCT) Program is an integral part of the HCA Healthcare Clinical Standards of Excellence. This program provides comprehensive blended experience that offers an opportunity to be trained as a PCT caring for patients in our HCA Healthcare hospitals.The StarTech PCT Training is 5 weeks:Five weeks PCT training program to include: * Three weeks: off-site classroom training (40 hours/week; M-F) o Basic nursing care fundamentals o Hands-on skills training o BLS for Healthcare Professionals o Computer Documentation training o Crisis Prevention Interventions (CPI) and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) training o Geriatric Compassionate Care, Patient Experience o HCA Healthcare focused skills and equipment training * Two weeks: General Orientation and Preceptorship o Market Orientation (8 hours) o Facility Orientation (4-8 hours) o 64 hours of clinical preceptorship in department + Five 12 hour shifts* *Attendance is imperative and all days are required to remain in the program.
