SummaryThe Development & Marketing Intern is responsible for support services surrounding the Development and Marketing team through external and internal communications, as well as creating efficiencies to better communicate and engage with supporters. Essential Job FunctionsDEVELOPMENT: Reach out to area companies to garner third party support for RMHC West MI. Compile a foundation, corporate, and donor catalogue to better house information on prospective supporters. Work with Development team on creating Red Shoe Gala auction packages to raise additional funds at Oct. 20th event. Assist with execution of donor and volunteer mailings. Additional event and development assistance as needed. MARKETING: Assist with event coordination and marketing. Catalogue RMHC West MI historic photos, memorabilia, and documents. Digitize and catalogue family stories to be used on social media and donor communications. Assist at events for day of execution and problem solving. Put together social media content proposals to be utilized on multiple platforms.OTHER Miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned. Perform other duties incidental to the work outlined in this position description as requested by the Volunteer and Engagement Senior Manager or Marketing Manager Contribute to RMHCWM team efforts by maintaining positive, supportive and flexible working relationships with fellow staff and volunteers in the mutual pursuit of providing comfort and care to families of seriously ill or injured children being served by the Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and personalities. Flexible, diplomatic, trustworthy, creative, poised and maintains a supportive and cheerful attitude. Maintains a professional manner in order to work with families, visitors, volunteers, and staff. Ability to maintain confidential matters. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner both verbally and in written communication. A multi-tasker with strong organizational skills and the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment. Proven self-starter who works independently. Compensation The Development & Marketing Intern will be compensated at $1,500 for the completion of their internship. Must be physically capable of carrying 25 lbs, may be asked to lift up to 50 lbs.
