St. Vincent''s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system''s second-largest hospital.Job Summary: Provides direct nursing care to students within a school system.Responsibilities:• Participates in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of student care. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.• Oversees student care while at school. Delegates tasks to unlicensed personnel within scope of license.• Participates in the surveillance and prevention of communicable diseases. Complies with reporting guidelines.• Educates students, family members and faculty. Promotes a wellness environment and ensures the health, comfort and safety of students.• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary yean regarding the health and safety of the students while participating in PPT meetings.• Other Duties as assignedQualifications Required Credential(s):• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.One or more of the following:• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Education: BSN Required.Work Experience:• 3 years nursing experience.• Experience working with children with disabilities and emergency care preferred.
