Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for patient education, conscious sedation, monitoring, and recovery of those patients receiving radiation therapy within the radiation oncology department. The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates the patient care activities for the clinic, prepares the equipment and assists provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients utilizing technical skills within the RN scope of practice. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the Radiation Oncologist and Neurosurgeon as well as non-physician providers with Avera Radiation Oncology. Education and/or Experience Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor''s degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in an acute care setting preferred but not required. Licensure/Certification/Registration Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required. ACLS required. Minnesota RN licensure within 90 days of employment required. Work Schedule Hours: Primarily 8:00am-5:00pm. 4 days each week. No call, weekends, or holidays.
