Job Description

Responsible for providing quality workmanship and repairs. These services are performed on both the interior and exterior components of the vehicle. The body shop employee is responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work place environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Body sanding and preppingRepair unibody structural damageReplace and repair body panelsReplace damaged wiring harnesses or reinstall harnesses after body repairRemove and reinstall interiorsPaint and re-finishPerforms work as outlined on repair order and ensures work orders are completed properly and accuratelyEffectively communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed partsAdvises manager if additional work is needed Maintains safe work environment by adhering to work standards and practicesComplete daily paperworkCompletes a safety risk assessment prior to all work performedRemoves, cleans, repairs, reinstalls, and adjusts vehicle componentsConducts appropriate course of action for repairs and follow up on written/printed repair orders and ensures proper information flow of work order data and input into maintenance computer systemEvaluates completed work prior to release and seeks supervisor/foreman approval where required.Ensures safe use of all shop equipment, power and hand toolsMoves vehicles safely between job and work area and maintains the appropriate credentials to operate a motor coachCommunicates professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.Actively participates in safety or educational training as requiredIn the event of a fuel or fluid spill, takes all necessary steps to contain the spillFollows all safety standards and guidelines including but not limited to: wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate safety gloves as needed, and proper attirePerforms any other management requests or directives as requestedEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:High School Diploma3 year''s hands-on experience in body shop repair (Motor coach preferred)Driver''s License requiredMust be capable of being trained to obtain certified training to drive coach from Greyhound driver instruction or qualified trainerExperience with vinyl wrap/graphic installation and decal installation; 3M experience preferredPainting experienceWelding experienceSome computer skill requiring basic data entry into maintenance databaseKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceMust be able to speak and read conversational EnglishMust be able to work shift work to include evenings, weekends and holidaysPHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:Must be able obtain respirator certification which will require no respiratory issues and no facial hair in order to obtainAble to maneuver up to 100 lbs without assistance and up to 250 lbs with job aids or co-worker assistanceCarrying up to 25 lbs for a distance up to 200 feetStanding/Walking activities are encountered during 75% of the normal work daySitting activities are normally not encountered outside of normal work breaks and would not exceed 10% of a work dayStooping/Bending/Squatting activities are encountered on a frequent basisKneeling/Crouching/Crawling activities are encountered approximately 5% of an average work dayClimbing, reaching and twisting activities are conducted on a frequent and repetitive basis throughout the work day
