Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN / LVN) - Acute Rehab

We Are Hiring: Unit Description: A 25 bed inpatient rehab unit specializing in improving the functional abilities of patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, tumors, multiple sclerosis, hip fractures, amputations, burns, cancer, cardiac and pulmonary disorders, and general medical and surgical debility. This unit will focus on the patients'' physical recovery and rehabilitation needs and provide a seamless continuum of care in one location. The IPRC uses state of the art gait training and neuro-rehabilitation technology to provide comprehensive inpatient care for physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, psychology, rehabilitation nursing and social work. Team members on this unit will assist patients with activities of daily living, cognitive & language skills, and other daily functional tasks, as well as actively managing their medical needs. Scheduled Hours: FT Days- This associate will work three 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00AM through 7:30PM. This will include rotating weekends and holidays. What You Will Do: Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license.Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients.Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care. What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Education:High school diploma or GED required. Additional Preferences: Candidates with prior LPN and/or rehab experience are preferred.
