Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care.The General Surgery and Bariatrics Clinic is now hiring for four patient-oriented and efficientMedical Assistants or CNAs for our busy cliniclocated on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus!*$1500 Sign On Bonus offered for these positions! About these Positions One position will support a very busy and established surgeon who focuses on General and Bariatric Surgery and the other will support a new Provider who focuses on Colorectal Surgery. The other two MA or CNA positions will support two new PA-Cs to the clinic. You will perform typical MA/CNA duties such as rooming patients, taking vitals, patient intake, chart prep, and assisting with minor procedures. In addition, you will also perform patient follow up, assist with referrals, and conduct prior authorizations. This position may also assist with the Bariatric program meetings.An ideal candidate will enjoy learning, will be extremely organized - a task master, and not afraid of prompt changes. It''s a great time to join the clinic as they have a lot of great things going on in this area!Work Schedule: The position will work approximately 40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm, or 4 day - 10 hour schedule may be considered. There may be some flexibility with this schedule. Once orientation is completed, you decide if you want to be a part of our clinical support team (a float pay differential would be added) or if you want to search for a home clinic. Learn more about Surgery Services: Learn more about the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group clinics : Medical Assistant Requirements Education and Certification Requirements :High School Diploma or equivalent required.MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)American Medical Technologists (RMA)National Healthcare Association (CCMA)National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hireGeneral Requirements :Previous clinical experience preferred.Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.Experience with process improvement or LEAN philosophy preferred.CNA Requirements Certification Requirements :Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho is required.Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.Primary Responsibilities:Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).Revenue Management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.Facilitates the delivery of patient care by communicating patients needs and requests to appropriate personnel and other hospital departments.Provides direct patient care as delegated to and supervised by licensed nursing personnel.Provides direct high quality service to Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) to assist in patient care activities.Facilitates high quality customer service, communicating clearly with patients and families.Removes non controlled medications from deliver points (such as tube stations) and hands directly to RN or places in secure location.May act as a Unit Clerk on occasion which requires:Preparing, compiling, and maintaining the patients medical record on the nursing unit from admission through discharge on a daily basis.Transcribing physicians orders accurately.Processes tests and procedures as ordered by the physician, then receives results of tests and procedures and reports them to the patient caregiver.Notifies physicians of admissions or consultations, as directed. Directs physician to appropriate patient caregiver.Orders routine supplies weekly, and other supplies and equipment as necessary.Demonstrates utilization of proper infection control standards and practices.Demonstrates utilization of proper body mechanics for self and plies with the organizations standards of care and Idaho Nursing Practice Act.May act as a Patient Visual Monitor on occasion which requiresMaintaining visual observation at all timesVerbally redirecting patients in person or over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.Immediately summoning the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.Documenting every 15-30 minutes, as appropriate, on Observation Flow Sheet.Participating in handing off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.Seeking help or advice as soon as possible when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.Participating in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
