We Are Hiring: Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit - 12 bed unitAs the designated Tertiary Care Center for Ascension Wisconsin the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) cares for critically ill patients recovering from general, thoracic, trauma, vascular, orthopedic, gynecologic and obstetric surgeries, along with patients that have complex medical diagnoses, respiratory failure, endocrine and metabolic emergencies, or septic shock. Nurses in the MSICU provide comprehensive care and advanced therapies. We welcome enthusiastic positive thinking applicants who are willing to learn in agrowing tertiary care environment. The ideal candidate would be a critical thinker who can analyze data to determine health conditions, is detail oriented with the ability to track information in an organized manner and have good communication skills. We pride ourselves on providing high quality care. Each shift begins with a huddle to alert all staff so that they can anticipate care needs and share important communications. We depend on our team to support the quality of care our patients deserve. Daily multidisciplinary patient rounds support the review of patient care goals in a collaborative and educational manner. The multidisciplinary team consists of our Intensivist, RNs, Respiratory Therapy, Case Managers, Social workers OT, PT, Speech Therapy, Pharmacists, Psychologist, CNS, APNP and Chaplin services. Standardization of critical care protocols and processes is a priority to help reduce errors and improve survival from life-threatening illness. We have a diverse group of staff that is team oriented and addresses the physical, spiritual and psychosocial care to provide our patients.FTE: Part TimeShift: Nights What You Will Do: Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in assigned area.Aid with entry and exit of patients.Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment. What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.Nurse Aide credentialed from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. CNA certification on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work within a hospital setting.Education:High school diploma or GED required.
