THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to provide support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Divison at the NSWC headquarters in West Bethesda, MD. The engineer will provide system engineering and integration services in Open System Architecture for customers such as PEO Unmanned and Small Combatants, Naval Sea Systems Command Surface Ship Design and Development Directorate, and the Office of Naval Research. The candidate''s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions: * Provide HM&E Open System Architecture (OSA) Development Support including performing conceptual studies for various platform modular open systems, system engineering efforts associated with the OSA development process, and conduct HM&E platform and mission system integration impact studies.* Perform Systems Engineering efforts to develop Interface Control Documents for the platforms.* Requirements Traceability Support identifying and tracking requirements for HM&E OSA applications to platform acquisitions program offices. * Attend Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and develop Proposed Changes (PCs), Engineering Changes (ECs), and Notices of Revisions (NOR).* Provide HM&E Architecture Verification and Validation expertise to conduct the necessary quality assurance on OSA implementations.Citizenship Requirements: * Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.Security Clearance Requirements: * Must already possess a SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Bachelor''s degree in an Engineering discipline, including Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Naval Architecture from an ABET accredited university or college.* An ideal candidate will possess a Master''s degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture.* Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of recent, relevant experience working with research, development, and test and evaluations of platforms and systems relating to the Navy, Coast Guard, or Military Sealift Command. Experience should include:* Using relevant applications of HM&E open systems architecture to conduct and direct platform and subsystem development programs.* Demonstrated leadership and project management skills within DOD and Navy.* Understanding DOD engineering policies and procedures related to acquisition programs.* Proficient with office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.* Strong written and verbal communications skills.Travel Requirements: * Approximately 10% or less travel is anticipated for this position.Typical Physical Activity: * This position''s essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, lifting, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, talking, and walking.THOR Solutions, LLC is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
