Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY : The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the management, training, scheduling and development of maintenance personnel providing support to the food production/food processing areas. This leadership position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervision of maintenance crew. Production support in the Production / Processing areas. Create and update work orders, PM Programs and Inventory Controls Responsible for installing new equipment. Troubleshoots problems with equipment. Provides a safe work environment for employees. Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations. Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times. Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (I.E. timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.) Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner. Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production. Keeps manager informed on operating and/or employee problems which may require their attention or knowledge. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP''s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Lead and participate in monthly safety team Participate in plant and corporate continuous improvement teams to promote facility growth and development. Develop and/or maintain the programs necessary to ensure all employees are properly trained in order to meet company objectives relating to human safety, product quality and safety, human relations and professional development. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION: Associate''s degree (AA) or two-year technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics or a related field EXPERIENCE :Two years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Communication and interpersonal relations. Ability to learn computerized maintenance management system. Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, preventative maintenance, plant operations and government safety regulations. Able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner. Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve.
