Director of Nursing (DON)

DONFull-timeDirector of Nursing Purpose:To plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.Director of Nursing Responsibilities:Direct the coordination of all nursing servicesMaintain a medication system which adheres to state, federal and company laws, regulations and guidelines.Perform assessments and reassessments to determine resident needs and establish appropriate care plans.Act as liaison between the Administrator and nursing services administrationReview inspection reports with the Administrator retrospectively to institute a plan of correction as required. Monitors resultsAssist Administrator with ongoing updating and review of nursing policies and procedures to assure continued quality of careMaintain professional contacts within the local community.
