8am-4pm with flexibility. No weekends. no holidays. Provide customized massage therapy intervention within a clinical care plan model supporting patients throughout their disease process, promoting comfort and coping as well as optimizing overall function and quality of life.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provides skilled massage therapy services to patients and families in accordance with the policies and procedures of Hospice Buffalo, Inc., as well as state and federal guidelines to meet physical therapy needs.Participates in IDG Team meetings when possible, providing active incorporation of the functional needs of the patient within the plan of care and updates the plan of care when appropriate.Treats patients to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum performance using appropriate massage therapy techniques, modalities and procedures as documented in the massage therapy plan of care.Develop an individualized patient / family plan of care, reflecting changes in care as appropriateDemonstrates a knowledge of cultural and ethnic diversity in end of life careInstructs and advises patients, families and other IDG members in massage therapy interventions in which they may assist the patient.Participates in patient conferences as appropriate, demonstrating sound management of issues presentedAdheres to requirements of both HPCB and Hospice Buffalo policies and procedures that are both patient focused (clinical) and organizational focused (administrative). Adheres to HIPAA regulations, policies and standards of confidentiality.Qualifications:Education / CertificationGraduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program with current licensure in the State of New York. Valid Driver''s License, free of serious violations, and vehicle required for use when on duty or on-call.Experience2 years working as a massage therapist preferred. Experience with the elderly and/or terminally ill preferred.
