Responsibilities will include: * Evaluating designs against mission requirements * Developing technical products to be used by the Government as part of upcoming acquisitions * Conducting technical planning and analysis and supporting all phases of the Systems Engineering process * Working with cross-disciplinary teams on projects that will result in flight hardware * Understanding the DoD design review process (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) * Independent evaluation of other vendor concepts, designs and performance * Reducing mission concepts to fundamental elements that can be expressed as requirements * Understanding radiometry, calibration, and estimating EO/IR sensor system performance * Communicating effectively through written reports and presentations * Some travel may be required Required Qualifications: * Masters in mechanical engineering, physics, applied physics, electrical engineering or optical engineering related to remote IR sensing testing and calibration, plus 15 years of experience with EO/IR Systems * Previous sensor calibration experience * Working knowledge of state-of-the-market hardware and software capabilities used in missile defense systems * Ability to work in a fast-paced, initiative-driven environment to quickly prioritize and accomplish technical tasks * Knowledge of systems engineering techniques and their application to large DoD development programs * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with program management, customers, contractors, and colleagues * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers * Ability to effectively and efficiently operate in a secure DoD environment * Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance * Must be a US citizen * Must be able to travel occasionally to contractor and customer facilities For questions or assistance with the application process or the DoD SkillBridge program, please contact .
