Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community. residential program.This position is responsible to: Establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with children/adolescentsEncourage and provide opportunities for positive peer and social interactions, teaching of social skills, a sense of community, anti-bulling and problem solvingAssisting, supporting and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan Ensuring individuals are safe, healthy and living in a clean environment.Planning and implementing positive use of free time through recreational activities and personal leisure skill developmentDevereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate''s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans, which have been tailored to address the unique aspects of COVID-19 prevention to ensure the safety of our employees and individuals served.
