The Assistant Director of Human Resources (Colleague Experience) should have HR Generalist knowledge, and be versed in the areas of benefits, workforce planning, recruitment and staffing strategies, wage and salary administration, training and development, coaching and counseling, labor relations, and diversity initiatives. This highly visible role assists in short and long term planning of the HR function and is heavily involved in execution the hotel''s HR initiatives, as well as the day to day operations of the Colleague Experience office. The Assistant Director will lead the office in the absence of the Director of Colleague Experience, and will work collaboratively to support and guide the many teams and leaders of the Hyatt Regency Portland. Lead and inspire teams to have fun! This role is very involved in planning and executing colleague appreciation and engagement events. In the Colleague Experience Office, the Assistant Director wears many hats, providing ample opportunity to not only expand and grow in the areas they are passionate about, but also to gain new exposure to the areas of Human Resources & Hospitality they may be less familiar with. This individual should have a passion for learning, working as a team, seek to strengthen and establish relationships in the local community and within the hotel, all the while ensuring constant continuity with Hyatt Hotels initiatives and visions. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a welcoming and engaging personality.
