Adult Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Seeking one (1) full-time Adult Psychiatrist OR one (1) full-time experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide locum coverage ASAP for 7-8 weeks in one of our civil admission units. Work hours are Mon to Fri, excluding holidays, 8 to 5 with an hour lunch break. Usual caseload is about 10 or less, including 0-2 admissions/discharges per day, and the patients do not have to be seen everyday. The 22-bed unit is shared with another provider with some cross-coverage responsibilities. This is a coed unit with mostly forensic restoration or TDO admissions, and typical diagnoses of patients are Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, and others.Psychiatrist Pay Rate - $115.00-$140.00 per hourPsychiatric Nurse Practitioner Pay Rate - $75.00-$95.00 per hour Assignment: • Seeking 1 Psychiatrist OR 1 experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner • Available to start immediately, credentialing can be completed quickly • 7-8 Week assignment • Full-time, 40 hour a week commitment with assigned office hours of Monday to Friday from 8: 00 a.m. to 5: 00 pm, and 1 hour lunch break • Not approved for overtime • No holidays or weekends • Requires a 30-day notice to terminate the contract before the end of the assignment Qualifications: • Experience working with an acute adult inpatient population • Comfortable working on an admissions unit with rapid turnover • Experience conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and forensic evaluations for competency restoration • Willing to provide cross coverage to other units, if needed • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team • BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required • EHR (Cerner Millenium) proficiency required for documentation Petersburg, Virginia Inpatient Adult Population• Acute and long-term adult inpatient units (male & female) • Forensic, NGRI, Civil, and Jail Transfer • Short and long-term length of stay • Caseload varies by unit (10-30 patients per provider) • Admissions/Discharges o Admission units: 5-10 per week o Acute units: 0-10 per month o Long-term units: 0-5 per month • PCP coverage provided • Full complement of interdisciplinary team membersPay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
