Find your future with us.The Training Proposal Team is currently seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer 3. This team is responsible pulling together the proposal inputs from the Training Systems teams that are responsible for the design, development, manufacture, maintenance of training devices, and courseware for a wide variety of military aircraft - everything from F-15 fighter jets to Apache attack helicopters.The successful candidate will have skills and experience in leading the activities of proposal development. The successful candidate will also have the ability to leverage existing technologies, resolve cross-functional issues, and support projects from RFP to Baseline. Extensive familiarity with leading proposal development with Training Systems engineering teams is preferred. This position involves frequent interaction with customer partners and suppliers and may require occasional travel to installation sites, suppliers, and other Boeing facilities.Position Responsibilities:The qualified candidate will be a part of the technical proposal team and will perform the following responsibilities:Lead the proposal development including the development and documentation of planned technical approachAbility to decompose Statement of Work (SOW) to determine capability impactAnalyze customer request/change requests/customer issues and develop estimates and determine risks and alternative solutionsResponsible for the documentation of the Engineering Basis of Estimate, Trade Studies, Request for Information (RFI) and Bill of Material (BOM''s) if requiredIdentify and cultivate process improvements in the engineering proposal process, integration procedures and system designLead Executability reviews for proposal activitiesParticipate in Customer and Supplier negotiationsDevelop and maintain relationships/partnerships with the entire team including but not limited to the capability teams, program management, leadership team and customersServe as primary Engineering point of contact for proposal activitiesExercises critical thinking and innovative problem solvingDemonstrates the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable wayThis is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor''s degree or higherExperience working effectively and collaborating within a diverse engineering team in a hybrid work environmentAbility and willingness to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately and efficientlyExperience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Project)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):GTS&S Engineering experienceExperience with Engineering proposal generationExperience with project management, planning and cost estimatingWillingness to expand into technical areas without prior experienceTypical Education/ Experience:Bachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
