The focus of the program is to create a safe environment where healing and growth can occur. Our program seeks to promote recovery and resilience by addressing a variety of complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Youths admitted to the Program have experienced multiple challenges and adverse events such as a lack of intact family and other natural supports, multiple unsuccessful treatment and child welfare interventions, and exposure to interpersonal violence and loss. Repeated contacts with mental health, child welfare and juvenile justice systems are common experiences for the youth and families we serve.We Offer:Evidenced Based treatment and care models within a clinically based environment focused on collaboration and treatment teams.The ability to make a difference in the lives of othersPayment for license renewal CEUs as part of our continuing education programStable national non-profit employer offering a strong support system and is forward thinking in their clinical practice and researchExcellent benefits-eligible for medical coverage after 300 days of employmentSign On Bonus: Full Time- $10,000Part Time- $5,000Responsibilities include:Evaluates, diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disordersDetermines appropriate course of treatmentCreates treatment plansPrescribes medication as needed/necessaryCompletes electronic medical recordsDiagnoses may include: suicidal gestures and attempts, cutting and self-injurious behaviors, depression, aggression, psychosis, autism spectrum disorders, and/or drug and alcohol issues.Devereux Pennsylvania Childrens Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home communityDevereux is committed to the health and safety of our staff. All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans tailored to specifically address the unique aspects of communicable disease prevention including COVID-19._Learn More: /covid._QualificationsEDUCATION: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist with current license. Must have child psychiatry training if treating population 16 years and younger. Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Duty to immediately notify Executive Director or Human Resources in the event license, privileges or mandated certification is suspended or revoked.EXPERIENCE: Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Psychiatrist working with child and/or adolescent clients must demonstrate relevant treatment competency through clinical experience, continuing education units and referral letters to support these specific skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications.
