Optical Lab Technician II Sunnyvale, CA12 Months Job Responsibilities:Work with a small team of product engineers in developing optical validation systems for AR applicationsSupport the evaluation and characterization of optical components and system integrations to correlate performance to simulationPrototype and/or simulate optical technologies to drive system performance and validationCollaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers in building optical prototypes and testing benchtopsDevelop data collection procedures and data representations utilizing Python scripts and optical characterization equipmentCollaborate with the larger research team to explore concepts and drive optical system development to create compelling experiencesEstablish specifications for optical systems to ensure a successful product Skills:Familiarity with optics concepts such as geometrical optics, radiometry, and interference & diffractionAbility to program in Python, C (Visual Studio), and C (Arduino boards)Ability to work with minimal direction and manage a project independently from start to finishWorking, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional team environment Education/Experience:BS in Optical Engineering or related fieldExperience in defining optical test procedures and test setup requirementsExperience with laboratory work and setting up optical systemsExperience with optical software such as FRED, ASAP, LightTools, or Zemax Questions to ask prior to submission:Does the candidate have Python experience?Does the candidate have experience with optical characterization and testing?Is the candidate eager to learn and grow?
