Financial Controller

We are looking for a uniquely talented, manufacturing focused Financial Controller to join our team who will positively impact our business and become a trusted advisor to the business owner and the leadership team. Position Overview: The Financial Controller will (a) establish/develop processes and controls around collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; and (b) supporting manufacturing and retail operations. The role requires leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with a sense of urgency, pragmatism, and accountability. Responsibilities of the Financial Controller: Manages the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts. Oversees the production of periodic financial managerial reports and ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Oversees all regulatory reporting and facilitates preparation of tax returns. Achieves operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to support product development, pricing, strategic plans and reviews. Drives the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure timely cash collection. Leads the operations of the accounting department which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Handles daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals. Assess, execute, and improve policies, procedures, and accounting controls. Determines system improvements and implements recommended changes. Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls and proper oversight of the accounting department. Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. Qualifications of the Financial Controller: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. CPA preferred with a mix of private and industry experience. Experience with MS Navision and Jet Reporting software systems is a plus. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited university. Compensation and Benefits: Salary range $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience level.
