Web Development Specialist

Advanced Systems Group LLC provides onsite managed services for a prominent global tech company based in Mountai n View. We are seeking a seasoned Frontend Engineer to design and develop web development training content for our global external developer community, with the potential to reach millions of users. This is a 4 month contract/through the end of the year, full time with benefits engagement, with the potential of converting to full time indefinite. This position is remote in the United States. Our ideal candidate is an experienced developer excited to create and deliver engaging and effective learning experiences meant to advance web development beginners to Junior Frontend Engineers. You will be expected to identify student needs and requirements, and manage and curate multiple sources of educational content, such as articles, videos, demos, quizzes, and assessments. The right person for the role will have a strong foundation and deep background in web development with Javascript, NodeJS, HTML, and CSS. As a web dev specialist you will also establish and maintain relationships with internal partners. Responsibilities Build a beginner Web Developer curriculum that demonstrates software development best practices to students, which includes producing sample code. Write technical documentation and create student-facing learning content, projects and assessments. Create interactive web-based coding challenges to evaluate proficiency in Javascript and other frontend technologies. Collaborate closely with other subject matter experts who may be developer advocates, product engineers, software engineers, and/or technical writers, to design, develop and organize online educational content. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years professional experience in frontend software web development, developing and deploying web applications and websites. 3+ years teaching, mentoring, and/or leading junior talent in web development. Web development experience in JavaScript, HTML, Web APIs, the development toolchain and related technologies. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, and advancements in the field, in order to keep products up to date. Demonstrated record of working effectively on cross-functional teams. Experience blogging and writing technical articles and documentation. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical groups. Ability to manage and organize your tasks and workload. Ability to navigate ambiguity and change with comfort and enthusiasm. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching and delivering educational content. BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience working with educational technology platforms. Experience contributing to open source projects and involvement in open source communities.
