Find your future with us.Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR) Spares Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer (Entry-Level) to work in a challenging and dynamic environment within BGS, Logistics Products & Support Team in Hazelwood, MO. This position supports the Captains of Industry Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Performance Based Depot effort for the F/A-18 A-D platform that spans across multiple Navy Depots. The successful candidate will be a part of an engineering team focused on providing fleet spares support by resolving spares technical issues and developing design solutions to improve material availability.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options: Hazelwood, MOPosition Responsibilities:Assist in coordination with Fleet Service Representatives;Assist in the development of strategies for spare part issues and recommend changes;Serve as Engineering reach back to the F/A-18 program, including, mechanical, structural, manufacturing and systems engineering;Assist in coordination with F/A-18 program on current production configuration changes and retrofit activities for applicability to spare parts and fleet support;Assist in the resolution of spares issues and coordinate dispositions with Asset Management and Supplier Management personnel;Assist in the development a process to investigate and analyze design changes to recommend lower life cycle cost part replacement through recommendations for parts usage and design improvements;Improve material availability by resolving supplier and tooling issues as well as investigating and analyzing new part configurations and/or design improvements that lead to lower lifecycle part costs.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Advance computer skills with proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.Experience with CATIA, Unigraphics (NX) or other 3D Computer aided design tools.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):1+ years of experience in an engineering roleExperience working on a military/defense program/contractTypical Education/Experience:Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position does/does not offer relocation.
