Please include this Job ID: 178754 in the subject line of the email.ResponsibilitiesThe roleWe are looking for a senior or principal DevOps Engineer to help build, automate and maintain the cloud and Linux infrastructure underpinning UK government instances set up on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.You will be responsible for the operational health of these instances day to day, troubleshooting and doing incident response as well as delivering automation (leveraging terraform and ansible) and projects such as introducing new monitoring tools, for example. A major project you will work on will be to help deliver a large scale migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.The teamThis role sits within Oracles SaaS engineering tools department who provide the platform for ops teams in Oracle to manage production infrastructure that underpin 36 different Oracle software-as-a-services.Detailed Job DescriptionAs part of this team, your responsibilities include:Helping migrate to OCI.Automation with Ansible and Terraform.Design, architect, build and maintain production infrastructure.Ensure production system stability and availabilityPlan and deploy production system migration/upgradeInvolve and influence project directions in compliance with Oracle technology standardsSystem debugging and performance tuningWork with development team closely to improve Oracle product qualityJob RequirementsTechnical Skills5+ years as a DevOps engineer, SRE, system administrator systems engineer, etc..Scripting experience (Bash, Golang, Python etc)Experience with use, deployment, and development of cloud computing platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) / AWS / Azure is a must.Strong Linux background.Use, interest, and understanding of Containers using Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka , Rabbitmq and Streams is a plus.Ability to convert conceptual architectures into functional infrastructures end to end.Knowledge and experience of understanding Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning is a plus.Strong ability to anticipate emergence at scale in complex systems.Operational on-call support experience on production, mission critical environment is a must, including hands on experience.Ideally (but not necessary) some product development experience.Soft SkillsSelf-motivated and self-managingExcellent communication / follow-up / time management skillsAbility to fulfill role/duties independently within defined policies and proceduresAbility to balance multi-task and multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is keyBe able to work in an interrupt-driven environments.Ability to function both as an individual contributor as well as a team playerStrong communication skills and fluent EnglishThe successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting various automation platforms at a data center scale, able to work with minimal supervision.NSCAbout UsDiversity and Inclusion:An Oracle career can span industries, roles, Countries and cultures, giving you the opportunity to flourish in new roles and innovate, while blending work life in.
