Overview A Child Care Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children to preteens. Their duties include coming up with creative and educational activities, preparing and serving snacks to children and maintaining a clean environment for the children. Requirements Required: 18 years old, HS Diploma or GED Preferred: CDA (or its equivalent). Exceptions may be allowed for individuals 16 or 17 years of age to work in a center if they meet all of the following criteria: The individual shall not have disciplinary control over children. The individual shall not be left alone with children at any time. The individual shall be under the direct supervision of an adult staff member at all times The individual shall meet all other staff requirements The individual shall be enrolled in a high school or GED curriculum.
