Become a Lead Evaluation Engineer working with Transmission and Distribution business unit at SCE and build a better tomorrow. You will work in the Meter Engineering group to test and evaluate new metering and associated products for regulatory mandated projects. In this Engineer 3 role your work will advance SCE''s Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Grid Modernization efforts. It will help with renewable energy integration at residential and commercial levels and make our environment a better place. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright! Lead Evaluation to ensure products performs and meets the safety, accuracy and reliability standards as outlined in applicable Industry standards. Analyze, develop recommendations, and collaborate with external vendors and other business units to resolve technical metering issues. Work with the Project Managers and Senior Engineers to provide deployment and product implementation support in the Field. Conduct and support field failure analysis for the equipment failure and identify ways to improve business process. Develop and support Quality Management System process flow, procedure, and job aid documents ensuring critical information and tasks are outlined for Meter Shop and Operations personnel to conduct QC testing of the product. Work with operation personnel in; Metering Field Operations, IT Grid Services (Advanced Meter Operations), Engineering, IT-Service Management Office & Operations, and Installation Management Services to provide engineering analysis and support in day-to-day activities. Participate in ANSI, UL, IEEE and EUSERC standard body meetings. QualificationsThe essentials Bachelor''s degree in engineering or technical domain. Five years of engineering experience Must have a valid California Driver License. The preferred Master''s degree in engineering or in a scientific/technical field. Three years of specialized skills include power quality, digital & analog communications systems, product reliability and quality testing, primary electrical metering, computer program testing and development, statistical analysis, and extensive root cause analysis. Four years of tried experience advising the evaluation, development, and implementation of capital projects. Four years of work experience troubleshooting and performing failure cause analysis on product failures and in-service issues. You should know ... Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position''s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
