Newport Laboratories is a leading manufacturer of autogenous biologics and has a long reputation of excellent customer service based on trust, integrity, and a philosophy of partnering with veterinarians to identify and address livestock diseases.The Laboratory Technician role will work in an aseptic, bacterin production laboratory within manufacturing.If you are a current Medical Lab Technician or Veterinarian Technician looking for a change you are encouraged to apply!Summary of Responsibilities:Grow various bacteria for use in animal vaccines while maintaining sterile laboratory techniquesWork within regulatory guidelines established by the USDAFollow, write, and troubleshoot Standard Operating ProceduresThe Ideal Candidate Profile:Familiar with microbiology techniques and language as well as principles of veterinary biologicsAbility to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of compliance to quality standardsStrong verbal and written communication skills in English Strengths in organization, time management, problem solving, and attention to detail.Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion; bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time; perform fine motor manipulationsKnowledge in mathematics and the metric systemExperience/Educational Requirements:Associates degree or higher preferred; High school diploma requiredEducation or experience in microbiology or a related field is preferred.Benefits at Newport Laboratories:We are proud to offer a generous benefit package in addition to competitive compensation.
