Responsibilities Location: Wichita, KS Key Accountabilities: * Apply knowledge of engineering and physical science principles, materials, and tools in a collaborative environment to develop, integrate, document and evaluate flight vehicle structure designs for performance, functional adequacy, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Areas of expertise may include primary and secondary structure design, payloads design, and lofting. * The successful candidate will lead the development of aircraft structure concepts, analysis, and verification of structure design and requirements compliance, performance, cost, and reliability. Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems by developing solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. This will include: * Leading root-cause analysis activities * Mentoring lower level engineers and other co-workers, acting as the subject matter expert for work packages * Providing guidance and technical expertise in special assignments * Analyzing and organizing customer, regulatory, and company requirements and document results They will also be responsible for preparation and presentation in technical reviews, leading the development of technical training programs, participating in proposals, developing work statements and schedules, and acting as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies. Qualifications Requirements: * This role requires US Citizenship * Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment * Working knowledge of aerospace industry practices and standards * Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Excellent interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Experience with CATIA (version 5 or 6) * Experience or working knowledge of: * Engineering drawings and datasets * Engineering release processes * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint * Good communication skills * Candidate must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Wichita, KS area * Bachelor''s of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or other related course of study from an ABET accredited program * Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 9 to 13 years'' experience in design engineering classification / position Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
