Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy Revolution Become a Material Management Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you''ll partner closely with Edison Contractors, Regional Construction Managers, Project General Supervisors, Engineers, Project Managers, Planners and Site Reps to communicate status of materials, expected delivery dates, requisitions and any potential issues associated with construction projects. This position will perform Work Site and Electric Distribution design review to ensure design and materials are appropriate to meet project goals. As a Material Management Senior Specialist, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions, and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright! Perform and validate unit price tasking in support of electrical line source contracts. Evaluate project status and institute changes as needed to maximize crew efficiency. Perform inspection and analysis of customer installations to meet construction standards, G.O. 95 and G.O. 128 standards, and applicable construction methods and safe work practices. Finalize job site readiness. Consult with planning staff, as needed or requested, to ensure design and materials meet project goals. Some after hours and on call duty required. Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. Demonstrate proficiency in Unit and T&E priced job aids and tasking codes. Collaborate with vendors to resolve Field Change Orders (FCO''s). Conduct Inspections of contractor managed material yards in accordance with CPS and CSSA Policies and Procedures Demonstrate conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsThe essentials Three or more years of experience in construction, planning and maintenance of electrical facilities and equipment. Valid Driver''s License The preferred Managing multiple projects concurrently. Working with SAP in a corporate environment. Working from construction work orders, as-built drawings and design standards related to the electrical utility industry. Using construction maintenance standards (i.e. GO95 and GO128) to ensure constructability and safety standards are met. Effective time management skills and experience planning and organizing a heavy workload. Strong interpersonal communication skills which result in conflict resolution and problem solving You should know ... Work Mode: "¯When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position''s work mode is on-site. "¯The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location."¯ Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The primary work location for this position is (work location); however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location). Position will require up to 60% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply to this position. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Testing This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email.
