JOB SUMMARY:The Micro Supervisor plans and coordinates the overall operation, training, monitoring quality controls, maintenance and regulatory compliance of assigned section or area of the laboratory. This person performs laboratory procedures across the major areas of the laboratory including blood collection with advanced knowledge and proficiency. This position is also responsible for the coordination of the Proficiency Testing and assists with competency assessment of employees working in the area of responsibility.Responsibilities:Accurately performs complex and manual laboratory procedures across the major areas of the laboratory, including blood collection, and recognizes deviation from expected results, analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles.Develops and maintains department policies and procedures, objectives, QA program, proficiency testing program infection control and safety policies, PI program and monitors compliance.Monitors quality controls and maintenance procedures for accuracy, precision and troubleshoots any issues in timely manner.Directs, supervises, or coordinates technical functions and activities in the department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Must be able to accurately produce test results and evaluate variances.Must be capable of consistent, independent judgment under fluctuating workload pressure.Must be able to communicate technical information clearly, both in direct communication and by phone.Must possess the qualities of integrity and good judgment.Must maintain good physical and emotional well-being.Must maintain qualities agreed to in Patients First Commitment (Attitude/Demeanor, Respect, Teamwork, Accountability/Initiative, Communication and Dedication to Excellence).3 years'' experience in blood bankingCERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Medical Technologist (MT ASCP)If you are interested in hearing more about this great opportunity, please contact:Kai Taylor - Senior Executive Recruiter(512) - 400 - 2488[Click Here to Email Your Resumé]CHPRI
