I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge.Job DescriptionAbout the role:The Translational Molecular Pathology Scientist will work within Takeda''s new Precision & Translational Medicine group to provide scientific expertise in many ways that support next-generation immune-oncology drug development and improved clinical delivery. You will provide a high-degree of integration across diverse teams so that new tissue-based technologies (IHC, ISH, mIF), image informatics (HALO software), and tumor modeling resources can be used and purposefully directed to the identification of translational biomarker strategies and MOA signatures.How you will contribute:Be an important scientist within our preclinical biomarkers team to help develop the next generation of immunomodulating therapies for cancer patients.Execute wet-lab histological investigations to identify translational biomarkers that provide a continuum between preclinical and clinical development for improving patient benefit in our early-phase clinical trials.Embed within preclinical teams as a histopathology subject matter expert to help create investigative plans, develop custom-tailored histology-based testing panels and deliver data analyses that inform important decision making throughout the preclinical lifecycle.Approximately 70-50% of time and effort will be directed to the execution of high-quality investigations at the laboratory bench that support our multiple immune oncology cold-to-hot strategy programs.Focus will be placed on the development of IHC, RNA ISH, and multiplexed immunofluorescence assays/panels that are custom-tailored to address important program hypotheses.Perform image analysis using HALO imaging software (area quantification, % positive cells/phenotypes, nuclear segmentation and tissue segmentation) and work with computational teams to provide insightful data analysis to present to program teams.Help develop assays in the early translation space that have clinical relevance for cancer indication and patient selection strategies that inform clinical trial implementation.Manage the development of innovative testing platforms with technology and academic collaborators.Become an expert in histology assays (IHC, RNA ISH), multiplexed cell phenotyping technologies (multiplexed immunofluorescence) and spatial image analysis (HALO software).Apply above expertise to identify translational signatures across preclinical development stages and provide a bridge into clinical development.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:PhD degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent), or MS with 6+ years relevant experience, or BS with 8+ years relevant experience.Experience writing, reviewing and editing scientific documents.Guide decision-making within a multi-disciplinary, multi-regional, and matrixed teams.Good fit with Takeda core values and leadership principles.Right attitude (agile, curious, open-minded, ''can-do'' mindset).Desire to put patients first.Scientific experience in oncology is absolutely required.Laboratory skills related to histology-based testing (IHC, RNA ISH, mIF) and data analysis.What Takeda can offer you:Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and VisionFinancial Planning & Stability: 401(k) with company match and Annual Retirement Contribution PlanHealth & Wellness programs including onsite flu shots and health screeningsGenerous time off for vacation and the option to purchase additional vacation daysCommunity Outreach Programs and company match of charitable contributionsFamily Planning SupportFlexible Work PathsTuition reimbursementMore about us:At Takeda, we are transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals and best in class patient support programs.
