Sr. BMS Engineer - HiL

We believe in creative thinking and collaboration to help build a better mobility experience for everyone, improving people''s ability to move - whether for work or play.What we do: The Sr. BMS Engineer (HiL) is responsible for HW and SW/FW test strategy, verification, and validation of full BMS to be used in the Energy Storage System (ESS) by HiL and custom test methods. The role will collect requirements, develope test architecture and infrastructure for HiL and other test systems. The position works closely with other HW / SW / Cell Engineers within the Battery team, as well as other multi-functional team members to develop test requirements, share findings, and successfully release designs.What you can do:Develop high-level and detailed BMS HW/ SW integrated test environment & architectureDevelop System level test strategy, test cases, and test plan for functional and certification requirements per standardsProvide guidance to battery system architects & designers from DFT and test coverage perspectiveDevelop HIL test system and integration with Simulink environment, along with developing test casesCommunicate and provide solutions for challenges within the systemSelect test equipment and implement verification and validation test processesUse HIL system to verify BMS HW, SW and Algorithms at system levelDevelop Test scripts for BMS HW testers and Regression tests of ESS or Modules for BMS validationWorking with HW and manufacturing teams on testing, validation, and factory build supportTest BMS HW for sophisticated HW/FW interlaced tests to support BMS EE design EngineersMay require up to 10% of domestic and international travelsOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:Bachelor''s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with software engineering focusA minimum of 3-5 years'' experience in HV battery testing and validation using HIL systems in automotive, consumer, or aerospace industry (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)Excellent understanding of functional safety critical testingExpert level experience in specifying, installing, and efficiently using test infrastructure and HIL system for functional verification of HW/FW/SW/AlgorithmsExcellent programming skills in C, C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and scripting tools like PythonGood understanding of SPI, Ethernet, and CANKnowledge of interfacing HIL system with Simulink based battery models and Realtime RT or NI Test stand-based environments.Familiarity with safety critical component testing requirementsAbility to develop collaborative networksUnderstanding of DO-178C / DO254A/ DO 160G compliance for HW/ SW development and testing is a plusExcellent technical communication and ability to interpret data for resolution and decision-makingProactive delivery of communication and follow-upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailSuccessful ability to work both independently and within a teamSelf-motivated and forward-thinking personalityProficiency with MS Office Suite specifically for data analysis, document creation and reportingYou may also be able to contribute:M.S./PhD in related engineering field preferredAny offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background check.
