Job DescriptionJob Title: Sr. Manager Technology Excellence - Data ScienceLocation: Cambridge, MAAbout the role:To provide an innovation focus on digital and data analytics within Global Manufacturing Sciences Small Molecule & Drug Product Sciences (GMSci SM & DP)Responsible for developing manufacturing data & modeling systems to facilitate resolution of technical issues and enable forward-looking proactive approaches relating to the global manufacturing of commercial SM and DP (biologic, plasma and small molecule) products.Provide leadership in chemometric analysis within the GMSci SM & DP group.Create and implement innovative approaches to knowledge management, reporting, and business processes within GMSci SM & DP How you will contribute: Leverage statistical and data science expertise and first principle concepts to analyze and model large data sets which include real-time process data and offline analytical data sets.Characterizations and interpretations of process and product attributes, parameters, and systems in support of internal and external batch and continuous manufacturing.Develop a chemometrics predictive modeling platform, exploratory data analysis, chemometrics model development, validation and model maintenance.Expertise with Python, R, SQL, Databricks, Github.Design and deployment of dashboard architecture, data acquisition, and ETL, including cross-platform interfaces using RShiny, Qlik, Power BIEffectively present and communicate critical issues and solutions to cross functional teamsIdentify opportunities based on data analytics to enable proactive process monitoring approaches DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS The candidate should have direct experience with mechanistic/hybrid modeling, machine learning, AI, neural networks, and other data processing & modeling techniquesThe candidate should have experience with programming in Python and/or RThe candidate must have experience with applied statistics within the biopharmaceutical industryThe candidate must have expertise in data processing/modeling applications including Databricks, Power BI, Qlik, RShiny, and/or other tools.The candidate must have experience with knowledge management systems and concepts such as Discoverant, Statistica, data lakes, LIMS, SLIM LeadershipProvides leadership in digital and data analytics within the GMSci SM & DP group Decision-making and AutonomyHas decision authority on approaches used for modeling systems and analyzing data InteractionWorks with supervisor, manufacturing sites, and other global colleagues in life-cycle management, digital transformation/innovation, & data analytics projects. Align on best practices, identify, and execute impactful opportunities to leverage modeling and data analytics across Takeda''s SM and DP portfolio InnovationCreates innovative approaches for incorporating digital transformation/innovation and data analytics solutions within GMSci SM & DP Complexity Leverage large, complex data sets to drive improved outcomes for GMSci SM & DP What you bring to Takeda: Education / ExperienceDegree Applied Mathematics, Informatics, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline.PhD with minimum 5 years of experience working in a commercial technical environmentWorking knowledge of SM & DP manufacturing operations and product attributesDemonstrated Data Science experience within the Biopharma industry highly preferred.Experience in predictive model creation based on the current data and its associated projects supported by analytical techniques.Experience in proactive modeling - providing end to end data sets, conception through quality, etc.Demonstrated Systems knowledge - i.e. - Discoverant - LIMS - Data Bricks - Python / R Experience executing statistical analysis doing RCO supporting manufacturing. Ability to communicate complex ideas and projects across various audiences including Sr. Leadership. In this role, you may:Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.
