RESPIRATORY THERAPIST RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all functions of a respiratory therapist. Reads, signs, and transcribes physician orders accurately. Promptly calls physician for clarification of orders or medication when necessary. Maintains department records and files. Documents treatments and medication on patient charts. Always respects the confidentiality of patient records.QUALIFICATIONS:Completion of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program with a minimum of an AAS Degree. Must be registered, certified, or registry-eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Therapist by the N.Y.S. Dept. of Education.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Position requires knowledge of mechanical ventilators, blood gas analyzers, and other medical equipment utilized to deliver various modalities of respiratory treatments to the patient.
