We are all part of the solution.We are seeking a talented Specialty Pharmacy Tech/Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at St. Matthews Specialty Pharmacy in Louisville, KY. The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications. The Pharmacy Technician counts and measures proper dosage forms, selects appropriate container for dispensing, and labels product accurately and in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The pharmacy technician may also mix pharmaceutical preparations under the supervision of a pharmacist.The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. This position is compensated at $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience.Essential Functions:Performs data entry, including patient demographic, billing, medical history, and prescription information.Accurately operates and maintains a cash drawer via POS systemMaintains the waiting prescription bins on a daily basisGreets and assists walk-in customersAnswering phones and making outbound refill reminder callsEffectively triages customers questions and needs to the appropriate staff memberAddresses customers basic questions regarding wait times and medication in-stock positionConducts customer outreach calls regarding compliance and routine matters in accordance with the patient management programCounts/measures proper dosage forms, selects appropriate container for dispensing, and labels product accurately and in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulationsFollows up with insurance companies in a timely manner regarding prior authorizations and billingReceives inventory and updates perpetual counts as per policyReceives and stores incoming suppliesMaintains cleanliness of work area and equipmentParticipates in quality improvement activities and projectsUpholds patients rights including privacy and confidentialityProvides excellent customer service as evidenced by a willingness and ability to assist customers with their questions/concerns, treating customers in a friendly and helpful manner, and maintaining a positive attitudeFollows cold storage management protocolsPrepares and coordinates medications for shipmentActive registration/ certification from the STATE board of pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Registration must be in good standingHigh School Diploma/GED required2+ years experience and/or training as a Registered Pharmacy Technician, required National certification (eg.
