The person in this position will be responsible to audit completed orders for quality, accuracy to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and band material and prepare for staging.Novo Building Products is an industry leading manufacturer and distributor of mouldings, stair parts, doors, and specialty building products. Smith Stair Systems, Empire Moulding & Millwork, Southwest Moulding & Millwork and Novo Direct.Just as our products are used to build something new and inspire others to make living spaces more beautiful, we endeavor to positively impact the people and communities we touch every day.We are looking for a Second Shift Material Handler, Auditor/Bander for our Channahon, IL warehouse.Shift: Monday - Friday, 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.The Material Handler responsibilities include:* Record all daily audited order information on written and electronic logs* Ensure that all order pulling errors and quality issues are resolved in a timely manner by advising the order puller responsible for the error; who will then correct the problem when it''s discovered* Audit orders that take the highest priority first* Report frequently mis-pulled items to management* Ensure that all units are built tightly, and levelers used properly* Bands material, safely using equipment provided, to secure materials with metal bands for shipment.* Labeling banded carts ensuring accuracy of units, destination, handler, etc.* Cleans up work area, sweeping, rebinding loose bundles, etc. to make sure everything is ready for second shift.* Other duties may be assigned as needed.Basic Qualifications:* Accuracy and attention to detail skillset* Comfortable communicating with other employees of all levels.* Must be able to productively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements* Must be able to use hand-held communication devices in a manner sufficient to relay and receive information essential to performance.* Must be able to perform assigned duties in a safe and productive manner* Must be able to productively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements* Must be able to physically handle awkward product lengths and lift weights up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Basic math skills, interpersonal/team skills and reasoning skills are also requiredExperience (preferred)* Inventory, Quality Control, Cycle Counting preferredBehaviors (preferred)* Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellPhysical Requirements* 100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp* 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception* 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment* 10: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twisting* Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.* Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.Why Work with Us?We offer competitive wages, shift premium, and benefits.
