Description: Job SummaryReporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will primarily support the accounting and finance activities of the company''s owned master agencies, currently numbering six but expected to increase through M&A activity. The ideal candidate will have experience performing month end closing activities, with a focus on posting journal entries, cash entry posting, trial balance reviews and balance sheet reconciliations. SIAA is dedicated to the creation, retention, growth, and evolution of the independent insurance agency distribution channel.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and record journal entriesPrepare trial balances and financial statements for multiple businesses/locationsPost cash and reconcile bank accountsEnsure timely and accurate reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accountsAssist with the year-end audit and with tax return supportProvide ad-hoc analysis and support, as neededIdentify opportunities and implement solutions to improve processes Requirements: Bachelor''s degree in accounting or finance 1-3 years of accounting experience Strong ERP systems experience preferred. Working knowledge of Great Plains desiredTechnically proficiency, with advanced skills in Microsoft applications (particularly Excel, Word and Teams)General knowledge of US GAAPHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentMotivated and excited to work in a high growth environmentPI189389205
