Responsibilities: Execute global process improvement initiatives focused on trade complianceAssing HTS/Schedule B and ECCN to Items been imported or Exported from the AMR regions.Act as technical and subject matter expert for Illumina''s Import/Export Management system for the Trade Compliance team and work with internal and external resources for system updates and enhancementsAnalyze trade compliance data for trends and exceptions and recommend process improvements and corrective actionsDevelop and report global KPIs for trade compliance operational activitiesSupport Illumina''s AMR Customs Brokers to aligned with Illumina KPI''sIdentify areas for import/export process improvement and recommend solutionsLead local and global projects in support of trade compliance and supply chain objectivesIdentify and report to management any potential violations of trade compliance regulations and implement process improvements to mitigate risk via Internal audits.Support internal, external, and government-directed trade compliance audits and assessments and execute corrective action and training for Illumina and its business partnersAbility to interpret INCOTERMS and provide advice to the businessRequirements: Strong HS classification skills as well as determining the PGA''s requirements once the HS has been determinedExperience in the importation of FDA/USDA regulated material.Experience with trade compliance and/or international business preferredAdvanced Excel skills and ability to interpret dataExperience with SAP and SAP GTS software toolSelf-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced highly regulated environmentExperience in driving projects, developing metrics, and implementing solutionsAbility to communicate effectively to diverse groups involved in the import/export process: Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Contracts, Legal, Procurement and Customer ServiceExcellent verbal and written skillsAbility to review business processes and develop SOP''s and metricsStrong working knowledge of global and US import/export processes and requirements Excellent understanding of INCOTERMS and ability to apply today to day activitiesExperience with internal and external audit processes (preferred)Experience in an FDA /ISO regulated environment is a plusConcerns regarding COVID-19 continue as positive cases are experienced in the communities in which we operate.
