Overview: As a contracted physician at the Workit Health Clinic, you will be responsible for providing oversight of professional medical substance abuse treatment at Workit Clinics via telehealth platforms.Position Details: This position does not require a full-time commitment, however, it is Workit Health''s expectation that the physician will have reasonable availability to provide services to their patients in-person and via telehealth that are in accordance with the law, the applicable standard of care, and payer requirements. Workit Health intends to work cooperatively with the physician to determine the work schedule.Data 2000 Waiver: In order to work with Workit Clinic, you will need to possess the DATA 2000 waiver. The Drug Addiction Treatment Act (DATA 2000) allows qualified physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to obtain a waiver to treat opioid addiction with otherwise restricted medication in any clinical setting where they are licensed to practice. Once a practitioner receives the waiver, they are authorized to prescribe buprenorphine for opioid addiction treatment in any setting for which they are otherwise credentialed to practice. Physicians who have completed the required training may seek to obtain a DATA 2000 waiver for up to 30 patients for the first year, and up to 100 patients for every year order to qualify for the Data 2000 waiver, and individual must be: Licensed under state law Registered with the DEA to prescribe controlled substances. Hold a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties. Hold an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)Hold a subspecialty board certification in addiction medicine from the American Osteopathic Association. Capable of referring patients to counseling and other services Qualified by training and/or certification. Some of these trainings have a cost associated with them, and all of the trainings are done online. Waiver Details More information about obtaining the DATA 2000 waiver can be found on SAMHSA''s website.Job Duties:* Facilitate live & interactive clinical assessments, treatments, & medication management in person & via telehealth technologies in conjunction with NPs & PAs* Make appropriate assessments, treatment plans, & referrals for patient problems in conjunction with NPs and PAs* Prescribe & monitor opiate replacement (Suboxone & Vivitrol) therapy* Provide adolescent care as a licensed physician under state law* Collaborate with & supervise clinical staff* Review a case study with supervisee when needed* Provide patient education & referrals specific to patient''s assessed needs & abilities* Assist with developing and implementing, as necessary, care & treatment protocols, standards, policies, & procedures* Utilize good communication skills, verbal & written* Exercise good physical diagnosis skills.* Maintain accurate records on patients treated* Participate in case reviews, consultations, & utilization reviewJob Requirements:* Licensed physician under state law* Must have a DATA 2000 waiver or in be in the process of obtaining one* Ability & willingness to be licensed in multiple states* Hold state-controlled substance license or in the process of obtaining it* Registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) or in process of obtaining registration* Hold a collaborative agreement or attestation with nurse practitioners & physician assistants in accordance with the regulations of the state practicing in* Meet credentialing requirements where assigned, as well as ability to be credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid & other payers as necessary* Willingness to travel to mobile clinic locations if necessary
