Reporting to the Groundskeeping Manager, the Groundskeeping Assistant Manager is responsible for the maintenance and daily upkeep of the outdoor areas of the facility, parking structures, and landscape throughout the San Manuel Casino facility. A key element for this role involves prioritizing the health and safety of our guests and team members, as well as holding high responsibility for the continuous disinfecting and cleaning of high touch, high traffic areas. The Groundskeeping Assistant Manager will step in and provide leadership to the Groundskeeping team and maintain a proactive and innovative approach in the absence of the Groundskeeping Manager. The individual selected for this role is expected to assist in championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribal Community''s vision, mission and values.Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Manage, direct, assign, and evaluate the daily work of assigned staff, oversee the training of employees in work procedures, standards and safety practices.2. Maintain a high level of safety awareness with employees and the facility to ensure that all high touch areas under their scope of responsibility are disinfected and sanitized multiple times per shift, as well as documented.3. Ensure daily/weekly tasks are completed by assigned staff to maintain a clean and safe environment for our guests and team members.4. Oversee the preventative maintenance of the outside of the facility by proactively scheduling repairs and managing any and all projects pertaining to their area, to include parking structures, parking lots, entrances, walkways, water features, roads, landscaping, plants and trees.5. Interview and recommend selection of qualified job applicants, appraise employee performance, conduct informal counseling on work issues, prepare documentation and improvement plans for deficiencies, and performance management.6. Conduct daily walks of the grounds around the facility, parking structures, walkways and entrances to identify areas for improvement, whether structural or for aesthetic improvement.7. Provide leadership to the Groundkeeping team and step in to attend meetings and job walks during the absence of the Groundskeeping Manager. 8. Communicate matters involving personnel and facilities in a current and timely manner to the Groundkseeping Manager.9. Build working relationships with vendors and hold vendors accountable for completing work or projects awarded.10. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws.
