Feed Mill Quality Assurance Tech - Part Time

Purpose & Scope: As a Part-Time Quality Assurance Tech for JBS Live Pork, your focus would be on testing ingredients, finished feeds, and biological samples using NIR, Neogen Raptor reader, and other test kits as instructed by the supervisor. We use NIR equipment in our lab and you will need to manage and maintain our local NIR machine and program. Data entry and documentation is a key responsibility as a Lab Tech. The results generated from the lab will be used to make daily decisions in receiving ingredients, diet formulation, and marketing. Principle Responsibilities: Perform all applicable analytical tests on ingredients, finished feeds, and biological samples. Manage and maintain all aspects of local NIR Perform equipment calibrations, general maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory to ensure data integrity Assist in implementation of procedure, protocols, policies, and monitoring for compliance Identify quality, procedure and policy deviations; effectively report such deviations and provide accurate information in a timely manner and as needed Perform data entry into QA database Notify Team Leader of progress and any problems Maintain a clean and organized lab per the companys standards. Special projects as requested. Working ConditionsThe employee must occasionally lift and/move up to 50 lbs.The employee may be exposed to dusty conditionsThe employee is regularly exposed to high noise environmentsemployee may be exposed to chemicals used in the processRequired Qualifications: Must be able to read/write English and authorized to work in the U.S. High School Diploma or equivalent a Basic knowledge of math Knowledge of MS Office products including MS Excel Ability to follow written procedures and established test methods Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Prior experience in production related work 2 or 4 year College degree in Agriculture, the Sciences, or related fields.EOE/Vets/Disability
