Nurse Educator

Responsible for providing staff education, in accordance with agency, agency policy & procedure and the Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates an awareness of the mission statement by respecting the dignity of every human person. Provides a continuum of high quality services. Displays a compassionate manner. Exhibits concern for the disenfranchised. Develops innovative approaches. Develops, coordinated, facilitates, and implements orientation programs and other educational programs. Teaches the agency program curricula for Personal Care and/or Home Health Aide certification approved by the New York State Department of Health. Develops, coordinates, facilitates, and implements orientation programs and other educational programs. Designs and implements mandatory class models for HHAs, PCAs and Nursing staff. Provides theory and practical instruction to the students. Prepares testing materials to evaluate students'' performance. Supervise PCAs/HHAs perform skills on the job. Set-up and maintains accurate student records. Evaluates employee performance in relationship to all established standards, as well as the employee''s professional development. Performs in-service within the DOH guidelines. Performs additional duties designated by the Director of Clinical Services/Vice President to achieve success of agency course program. Participates in Performance Improvement activities as required. Participate in evaluating overall position performance, goal setting and achievement, and performance improvement plan. Current Licensure to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Minimum of 3 years nursing experience required.
