Overview This is a great opportunity for a driven Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This person will Inspect, repair, service and maintain gasoline, diesel, and electronically operated equipment of various types and sizes in an agricultural environment. Performs skilled mechanical diagnosis, maintenance and repair work on vehicles and heavy equipment including but not limited to light/medium/heavy duty tractors, construction equipment, power units, fleet vehicles, trailers, and specialized farming implements. Required Skills and Duties: Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains equipment Ability to use scanners/computers/tools to accurately diagnose failures Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency (must be able to operate all equipment) Welds broken parts and structural members Should have skills in basic fabrication Perform record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of vehicles Qualifications: Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Previous fleet equipment experience required Previous heavy equipment experience required Must have a valid drivers license ASE Certification(s) preferred but not required Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred Work Requirements: Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance and attendance Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks Demonstrates excellent customer service skills Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
