PositionUnder the general supervision of the Principal Technology Analyst or other assigned supervisor, a Systems Coordinator coordinates and performs implementation and maintenance of enterprise systems and software applications including servers, data storage systems, infrastructure services, and related hardware and software. This recruitment is continuous and may close at any time; therefore, the schedule for the remainder of the process will depend upon when a sufficient number of qualified applications are received to meet business needs. First Review of Applications: August 29, 2022 Essential DutiesAssists in performing systems support and maintenance of the District''s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Service Information (CIS) systems.Develops server specifications and performs capacity planning and installation of server hardware and software; manages configuration and connection security for assigned systems; ensures that systems hardware, operating systems, software systems, infrastructure services, and related procedures adhere to the Information System Division''s standards and best stalls, configures, and maintains server operating system (OS); applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; utilizes administrative tools and utilities and adds new services as needed.Manages and maintains data centers, disaster recovery relocation facilities, and services hosted in the cloud; coordinates and performs installation and maintenance of server and application virtualization and Cloud-based technologies (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)) . Coordinates and performs installation and maintenance of enterprise back-up systems; performs daily back-up operations; ensures all required file systems, databases, and applications data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site, as necessary.Maintains disaster recovery systems for critical District business applications and data; develops and maintains detailed disaster recovery plan documentation and conducts annual disaster recovery exercises.Coordinates and performs installation and maintenance of enterprise applications including e-mail, unified communications and collaboration, presence and instant messaging systems, and enterprise productivity applications and services hosted in public clouds.Develops simple and complex reports using various reporting tools including Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL).Monitors and maintains data center monitoring equipment including electrical, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), cooling, fire suppression, and building management systems.Manages and maintains infrastructure services including Active Directory (AD), domain controllers (DC), domain name services (DNS), antivirus and security systems, enterprise printing services, and server management and monitoring tools.Responds to systems outages and critical e-mail alerts and performs maintenance as needed.Manages vendor and consultant activities; evaluates vendors and products; prepares feasibility studies; recommends and establishes program objectives, priorities, and schedules.Provides training, guidance, and work direction to lower-level Information Systems staff.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE OF AND PERFORMANCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Use of configuration management and/or diagnostic tools, monitoring applications and performance analysis tools;Virtualization technologies, operating systems, routing, monitoring, storage connectivity, capacity planning, backups, and network security;Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, gateways, bridges, and Wi-Fi Access Points;Installing, configuring, and managing Windows servers and support systems including hardware and peripheral equipment;Enterprise back-up hardware and software including magnetic tape libraries, virtual tape or disk-based libraries, and file/e-mail archiving solutions;Information security best practices;Security information and event management, Mobile Device Management;SQL scripts, Crystal Reports, Power Business Intelligence (BI), and other reporting tools;Systems Administration techniques and best practices in an Active Directory Server Environment;E-mail systems and enterprise productivity applications including Microsoft Exchange and Office 365; Storage solutions including redundant array of independent disks (RAID) and storage area network (SAN);Cloud services including Azure, AWS, and similar cloud services;Database design and structures;Office software and computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office ABILITY TO: Analyze and define problems, evaluate alternatives, and provide solutions;Implement new information technology solutions and services;Read, interpret and apply technical publications, manuals, and other documents in performance of assigned tasks;Provide technical support and assistance to end users; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, on technical issues to individuals with varying degrees of familiarity with information technology;Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, consultants and vendors;Report, track, and resolve application and network issues;Prepare complex reports using business intelligence tools, Microsoft SQL, and other reporting tools;Adapt and apply new technologies;Operate, troubleshoot, and support network devices and interpret technical information relating to server programs and hardware;Plan, organize, and coordinate work to meet changing priorities and deadlines;Program in modern programing language (e.g. VB, VBA, C...);Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures;Develop and maintain system standards and best practices;Provide effective customer service;Provide training and guidance to others PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sufficient eyesight to read fine statistical reports and standard text and data on computer terminal screens;Ability to speak and hear at normal conversational levels in person and over the telephone;Manual dexterity to write legibly and to use calculations, computer terminal, and other general office machines;Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 25 pounds and to reach, bend, or crouch to use files and recordsTraining and Experience GuidelinesAny combination of training and experience, which demonstrates attainment of the required knowledge and ability to perform the required work (with reasonable accommodation, if needed), typically: EDUCATION: An associate degree in computer science or closely related field is required. A bachelor''s degree in computer science or related field is desired. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of recent experience maintaining/supporting computer/network hardware/software in a Windows environment. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: A valid California Class C Driver''s License must be maintained at all times.
