Job SummaryZimmer Biomet is a global medical technology leader. Our team members are part of a company with a heritage of leadership, a focus on shaping the future, and a mission dedicated to alleviating pain and improving the quality of life for people around the world.This position is responsible for performing maintenance on and operating vacuum furnaces for sintering of fiber metal/porous-coated product, setup and operation of CNC equipment, performing the Porocyl mixing operation, bead/grit blasting, using a variety of hand tools for finishing operations, operating in-cell cleaning and pickling equipment, operating various sizes of hydraulic presses, and performing in-line quality checks for all products flowing through the department.Weekend Shift (Fri/Sat/Sun 10am - 10pm OR Thurs/Fri/Sat 10pm - 10am) - Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hoursPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC equipment and provide bench support for porous processing operations.Program system controllers, fabricate load thermocouples, and build furnace loads of product and perform set-ups on CNC plete appropriate paperwork, analyze data, and keep detailed furnace cycle records.Performs non-destructive testing (NDT) and other inspection processes as necessary to insure product is free of defectsTrain employees in operation of all core functions of the cell.Fill out material requisitions and traceability tickets.Maintain accurate and legible records and inventory municate between shifts and functional areas regarding product flow, quality issues, and potential process improvements.Use JD Edwards, SynQuest, and/or Factory Net database to record transactions and product movement.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the ''essential functions'' for purposes of the ADA.Expected Areas of CompetenceAble to understand the principles of vacuum and temperature as they relate to the processing of porous products.Must be capable of understanding all technical, procedural, and operational phases of the equipment, tooling, and processes used in the vacuum sintering operations and laser equipment.Able to complete the appropriate paperwork associated with the maintenance and production processes, and must be able to analyze data generated from these processes.Perform Porocyl mixing for CSTi application.Process parts through various blasting and cleaning steps.Assemble and disassemble components into press tooling.Operate in-cell product testing equipment.Expected to maintain all safety rules and guidelines.Must be capable to program system controllers, fabricate load thermocouples and to build furnace loads.Knowledge of ZWIs, SOPs, ZESs and QCPs will be required for fulfilling job functions.Must have basic math skills and must be able to accurately read and interpret blueprints and analog/digital gaugesMust be able to read basic dimensions from blueprints and read and understand detailed process sheets.Must be able to utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, caliper, scales, pressure gauges, comparator, etc.Must be able to lift 50 pounds, torque bolts to 25 ppsi, roll carts on a routine basis carrying items of 125 pounds, and stand up to 80% of the timeEducation/Experience RequirementsA minimum of a High School Diploma or GEDCell process certification, plus previous experience with vacuum furnace, heat treat, porous surface processing or high temperature material processingTravel RequirementsLess than 5ditional InformationAt Zimmer Biomet, we believe in The Power of Us, which means that we are stronger together.
